Welcome, adventurer! You stand at the threshold of possibility, with endless worlds before you.

Where would you like to begin your journey? A bustling medieval town? A mysterious forest? A futuristic city? Or perhaps tell me what kind of universe you'd like to explore, and I'll craft the perfect starting location for you.

2 | A village like it comes in the dark series

You find yourself standing at the edge of Waldheim, a small German village nestled deep in the Bavarian forest. Gray clouds hang low over modest houses with steep-pitched roofs and timber framing. The air carries a damp chill and the scent of pine.

A few locals hurry along the cobblestone streets, heads down against the drizzle. In the distance, you can see the towering cooling towers of an old power plant through the mist. Dense woods surround the village on all sides, their shadows seeming to press inward.

The village center holds a small church, a weathered inn called “Zur Eiche,” and a few shops with dimly lit windows. Where would you like to go first?

3 | He goes to his moms room. She is a widow. Age 40. Looks absolutely gorgeous. Sleeps in her bed

You approach the small, two-story house on Bergstraße where you live with your mother, Ingrid. The old wooden stairs creak as you climb to the second floor.

Through her bedroom door, you can hear her soft breathing - she's fast asleep after another long day working at the village clinic. The room is dimly lit by moonlight filtering through lace curtains. Family photos line the dresser, including one of your late father.

A floorboard groans under your weight. Your mother stirs slightly but doesn't wake.

What do you do? You could return to your own room, head downstairs to the kitchen, or perhaps step outside into the mysterious night that seems to hold secrets in this village.

4 | He goes to his moms bedroom

You quietly push open the door to your mother's bedroom. The hinges give a soft creak that causes Ingrid to stir. Her eyes flutter open, and she sits up slightly, brushing a strand of dark hair from her face.

Mein Gott, you startled me,” she whispers, her voice thick with sleep. “Is everything alright? You look troubled.

She notices you standing in the doorway and her maternal instincts kick in. “Did you have another one of those strange dreams? Come, sit on the chair by the window and tell me what's wrong.

The village outside seems unusually quiet tonight - even the usual sounds of the forest are absent. Your mother glances toward the window with a slight frown.

What do you tell her?

5 | She is a widow. Aged 40 . Lives with her son jonas together more then 10 years now. She is a beautiful woman

Yes, Ingrid has been raising you alone since your father died in that accident at the power plant over a decade ago. At 40, she's still strikingly beautiful with her dark hair and gentle eyes, though the years of grief and single motherhood have left subtle lines around her eyes.

Jonas, mein Liebling,” she says softly, patting the edge of the bed. “You've been so restless lately. Ever since those strange things started happening in the village - the missing livestock, the power outages…

She pulls her robe tighter and looks toward the window where the forest looms dark and impenetrable. “Herr Mueller at the shop was talking about lights in the woods again. People are getting nervous.

Her voice drops to a whisper. “Sometimes I wonder if this place holds more secrets than we know. Your father… he mentioned strange things about the plant before he died.

What do you say to your mother about the village's mysteries?
