Welcome, adventurer! You stand at the threshold of an uncharted world. Where would you like to journey? A medieval kingdom? Futuristic metropolis? Magical realm? Or perhaps you'd prefer to tell me what this universe is?
2 | medieval Gdansk
You arrive in medieval Gdansk, a bustling Baltic port city. Tall brick buildings line narrow cobbled streets. The harbor teems with merchant ships. City walls surround you, while church spires pierce the sky. Where would you like to go first?
3 | tavern at the harbour
You push through the weathered door of “The Amber Anchor.” Inside, sailors and merchants crowd wooden tables. Salt-tinged air mixes with the smell of ale and fish stew. A burly barkeep polishes mugs while a one-eyed captain tells tales in the corner. What will you do?
4 | order a round of drinks for everyone
“That'll be 15 silver pieces, friend,” the barkeep says skeptically. “Quite generous for a stranger.” The tavern quiets as patrons turn to look. You notice your coin purse feels lighter than expected. Can you afford this bold gesture?
5 | sure
You slam the coins on the counter. Cheers erupt! The barkeep's eyebrows raise as he fills mugs.
“To our generous friend!” someone shouts. Suddenly you're surrounded by grateful sailors, merchants, and locals eager to talk. The one-eyed captain waves you over.
“Join me, benefactor. I've stories worth hearing.”
6 | you tell me
The captain leans in. “Name's Oskar Wulfson. Lost this eye to Baltic pirates. Speaking of which…” His voice drops. “The Black Swan—feared pirate ship—was spotted nearby. Their captain seeks something in Gdansk. Some say treasure map, others say revenge.”
He sips his ale. “Dangerous times. Interested?”
7 | Yeah, I could guess the captain name is Nassim Taleb
Oskar roars with laughter, spilling ale. “Nassim Taleb! Aye, that's him! Clever devil from distant shores. They say he studies unpredictable events like they're mathematics. Makes him deadly—strikes when least expected.”
He leans closer. “How'd you know? Are you acquainted with this Taleb? That's valuable information…”
8 | read his book, long time after
Oskar squints his good eye, utterly confused. “His… book? The pirate captain wrote books?” He studies your face with new suspicion.
“You speak in riddles, friend. Either you're touched in the head or…” He taps his temple. “…you know things others don't. A fortune-teller perhaps? Or something stranger?”
What secrets do you hide?
